TASSAL OCEAN SWIM

📣 Calling all  Novice Swimmers 📣​

You can now enter on the day!

500 m swim for registered surf club nippers (ages 10 to 14) - the teams challenge

  • Prizes to winning team

500 m Novice Open swim:

  • Male winner

  • Female winner 

​

500m Junior (under 15) swim:

  • Male winner

  • Female winner

​

Spot prizes - 8 X $50 Tassal fish vouchers 

Pre-race registration, $5 Novice Participation Fee, competitor numbering and cap collection from 11:00 at the Tassal marquee near the start line. 

Swim will be a rectangular course off Long Beach

ROWING

Rowing was one of the foundation sports of the Sandy Bay Regatta.

​

This year's rowing will feature Tasmania's first Coastal Rowing Regatta.

CLIFTON BEACH NIPPERS SURF LIFESAVING

The colour and fun of a Nippers carnival explodes onto Long Beach.

Their aim is to provide a safe, friendly and supportive environment where Nippers, parents and carers can enhance their knowledge about the beach, surf and surf lifesaving. 

​

Nippers runs most Sundays at Clifton Beach and range from 5 years through to 14 and are placed in their age group from Polar Bears who are our 5 and 6 year olds through to U14s.

SAILING

Sailability – Hansa demonstration races from 10am until 12pm

Hansas are designed to provide a safe and friendly environment for people of all ages and abilities to be able to go sailing. They meet every Sunday morning at the DSS. 

 

Australian Sailing (TAS) Discover Sailing 10am until 1pm

​

Run by RYCT, in Pacer dinghies as part of Australian Sailing's Discover Sailing Day. All boats will be hosted by experienced helms who can take 1-3 extras in each boat. No prior experience required, and life jackets will be provided 😊

KAYAK RACES

The popular kayak races are having a break this year, they'll be back in 2026 to provide great action on Long Beach from 12:30pm.

DRAGON BOATS

Dragon boat races will not be at the Regatta this year, we'll see them in 2026!
​
The Derwent Storms will be going head-to-head in their annual grudge match between the Blue and Red crews.  Dragon boat racing is one of the fastest growing sports in Australia, and it's a great way to improve your fitness and have some fun.
 
Plus, it's a very inclusive sport that's available to almost anyone over the age of 12!

STANDUP PADDLE BOARDS

Come and try 10am – 12.30pm

Super popular over the past few years – bring your beach clothes and try your hand at paddling around the bay.
